Corinth was a populous, rich, and wicked city with 1000 sacred prostitutes who plied their trade each evening in the city. Corinth was also a byword for evil living. To Corinthianize meant to live like a Corinthian with drunken and immoral debauchery. As a result of the Corinthian influence, the true Christian brethren there had a host of spiritual problems to overcome.
