How does the 8th chapter of the Epistle of Paul to the Romans relate to the Days of Unleavened Bread, the Passover and how the true followers of the only True Messiah, Jesus Christ, should be living their lives?

Sermon Notes

A partial list of Scriptures/Notes:

ROM 8 a fitting chapter for these days.

It gives many pointers on how to distinguish False from TRUE Christianity.

(Rom 8:1)  There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.
Rom 8:12  Therefore, brethren, we are debtors—not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh.
Rom 8:13  For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.
Rom 8:14  For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.
Rom 8:15  For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, "Abba, Father."
Rom 8:16  The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,
Rom 8:17  and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.

(2Ti 1:7)  For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
Heb 1:1  God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets,
Heb 1:2  has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds;

Moffat THE UNIVERSE ... [ and beyond, as God's Plan and Glory would seem to indicate ] Whatever HE Has in store for us is incredible.

[Phillips translation:]

(Rom 8:18)  For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

Act 9:12  And in a vision he has seen a man named Ananias coming in and putting his hand on him, so that he might receive his sight."
Act 9:13  Then Ananias answered, "Lord, I have heard from many about this man, how much harm he has done to Your saints in Jerusalem.
Act 9:14  And here he has authority from the chief priests to bind all who call on Your name."
Act 9:15  But the Lord said to him, "Go, for he is a chosen vessel of Mine to bear My name before Gentiles, kings, and the children of Israel.
Act 9:16  For I will show him how many things he must suffer for My name's sake."

2Co 11:18  Seeing that many boast according to the flesh, I also will boast.
2Co 11:19  For you put up with fools gladly, since you yourselves are wise!
2Co 11:20  For you put up with it if one brings you into bondage, if one devours you, if one takes from you, if one exalts himself, if one strikes you on the face.
2Co 11:21  To our shame I say that we were too weak for that! But in whatever anyone is bold—I speak foolishly—I am bold also.
2Co 11:22  Are they Hebrews? So am I. Are they Israelites? So am I. Are they the seed of Abraham? So am I.
2Co 11:23  Are they ministers of Christ?—I speak as a fool—I am more: in labors more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequently, in deaths often.
2Co 11:24  From the Jews five times I received forty stripes minus one.
2Co 11:25  Three times I was beaten with rods; once I was stoned; three times I was shipwrecked; a night and a day I have been in the deep;
2Co 11:26  in journeys often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils of my own countrymen, in perils of the Gentiles, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren;
2Co 11:27  in weariness and toil, in sleeplessness often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness—
2Co 11:28  besides the other things, what comes upon me daily: my deep concern for all the churches.
2Co 11:29  Who is weak, and I am not weak? Who is made to stumble, and I do not burn with indignation?
2Co 11:30  If I must boast, I will boast in the things which concern my infirmity.
2Co 11:31  The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who is blessed forever, knows that I am not lying.
(2Co 11:32)  In Damascus the governor, under Aretas the king, was guarding the city of the Damascenes with a garrison, desiring to arrest me;
(2Co 11:33)  but I was let down in a basket through a window in the wall, and escaped from his hands.

(Rom 8:18)  For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

(Rom 8:19)  For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God.
(Rom 8:26)  Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
(Rom 8:27)  Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
(Rom 8:28)  And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
(Rom 8:29)  For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.
(Rom 8:30)  Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.
(Rom 8:31)  What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
(Rom 8:32)  He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?
(Rom 8:33)  Who shall bring a charge against God's elect? It is God who justifies.
(Rom 8:34)  Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.

(Heb 7:24)  But He, because He continues forever, has an unchangeable priesthood.
(Heb 7:25)  Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.

Rom 8:33  Who shall bring a charge against God's elect? It is God who justifies.
Rom 8:34  Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.
Rom 8:35  Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
Rom 8:36  As it is written: "FOR YOUR SAKE WE ARE KILLED ALL DAY LONG; WE ARE ACCOUNTED AS SHEEP FOR THE SLAUGHTER."
Rom 8:37  Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.
Rom 8:38  For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come,
Rom 8:39  nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

We have a role to play in our conversion because of Christ being our passover, to be Overcomes, to strive to full obedience, to repeant with true contriction of the heart and to be loyal to Him to the VERY END!!!

We have an awesome, infinitely glorious inheritance waiting for us.

1Jn 3:1  Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.
1Jn 3:2  Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.
1Jn 3:3  And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.
Because Jesus Christ is our Passover and now we have access to God's Holy Spirit, from the Phillips translation again, vs 38-39 of Rom 8.
