How does heresy come into the church? One of the meanings of the Greek word used for heresy in the New Testament, Strong's G139 (hairesis), is "to choose." One heresy definition is "choosing to believe false doctrine." Another definition is "dissensions arising from diversity of opinion." Yet another definition: "departure from the truth." In this sermon, we will cover 3 common heresies: (1) Judaism ~ i.e. "Messianic Jews", (2) Gnosticism, and (3) Docetism.
