Satan is a very powerful being whom God has allowed temporarily to have access to God’s throne, to fight righteous angelic beings, to influence & control governments, to have some control over the weather & “natural calamities”, to afflict & cause health problems, and to deceive people’s minds. Satan’s power is only temporary & only to the extent that God allows. Through repentance, baptism, & the receipt of God’s Holy Spirit, we have been forcibly removed from being a child of the devil to being sons & daughters of God. We should be very thankful that God has removed the veil of spiritual blindness from our eyes & moved us from death to life. From having eyes & ears that cannot see & hear spiritually to having eyes & ears that can see & hear spiritually the hope of eternal life in the Kingdom of God.
