All of us will likely face the "final curtain" sooner or later. If we wanted to pass on to the next generation our best pearls of wisdom, what would we say or write? Jesus Christ knew what He was facing and when and so He left us His last lesson, His last lecture while still in the flesh.

Sermon Notes

Partial notes and list of Scriptures: YouTube: "Achieving your childhood dreams: THE LAST LECTURE" Randy Pouch? ? ? There is always LESS time than you think... Watch the video, BUY the book !! IF all I had was this moment in time, what would I try to cover for YOU brethren? A singular theme, no list but one single compelling thought as we go in this journey: GOD COMES FIRST IN EVERYTHING!!! Gen 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. Gen 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. Gen 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. Col 1:13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: Col 1:14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: Col 1:15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: Col 1:16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: Exo 20:1 And God spake all these words, saying, Exo 20:2 I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Exo 20:3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Exo 20:4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Num 9:16 So it was alway: the cloud covered it by day, and the appearance of fire by night. Num 9:17 And when the cloud was taken up from the tabernacle, then after that the children of Israel journeyed: and in the place where the cloud abode, there the children of Israel pitched their tents. Num 9:18 At the commandment of the LORD the children of Israel journeyed, and at the commandment of the LORD they pitched: as long as the cloud abode upon the tabernacle they rested in their tents. Num 9:19 And when the cloud tarried long upon the tabernacle many days, then the children of Israel kept the charge of the LORD, and journeyed not. Num 9:20 And so it was, when the cloud was a few days upon the tabernacle; according to the commandment of the LORD they abode in their tents, and according to the commandment of the LORD they journeyed. Num 9:21 And so it was, when the cloud abode from even unto the morning, and that the cloud was taken up in the morning, then they journeyed: whether it was by day or by night that the cloud was taken up, they journeyed. Num 9:22 Or whether it were two days, or a month, or a year, that the cloud tarried upon the tabernacle, remaining thereon, the children of Israel abode in their tents, and journeyed not: but when it was taken up, they journeyed. Num 9:23 At the commandment of the LORD they rested in the tents, and at the commandment of the LORD they journeyed: they kept the charge of the LORD, at the commandment of the LORD by the hand of Moses. GOD COMES FIRST......................... Mar 12:28 And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all? Mar 12:29 And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: Mar 12:30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. At camp also: GOD COMES FIRST!!! Jesus the Christ gave His last lecture to the Disciples... Joh 15:1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. Joh 15:2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. Joh 15:3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. Joh 15:4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. Joh 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. Joh 15:6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. Joh 15:7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. Joh 15:8 Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. Joh 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. Joh 1:2 The same was in the beginning with God. Joh 1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. Joh 1:4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. Joh 1:5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. Joh 1:6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. Joh 1:7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe. Joh 1:8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. Joh 1:9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. Joh 1:10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. Joh 1:11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not. Joh 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Joh 1:13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. Joh 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. +++ THE "I am..." statements... It is in the Gospel of John, however, that the most beautiful and personally meaningful "I am"s are found. There are seven of these, as follows: "I am the bread of life" (John 6:35,48,51). "I am the light of the world" (John 8:12). "I am the door of the sheep"(John 10:7,9). "I am the good shepherd" (John 10:11,14). "I am the resurrection, and the life" (John 11:25). "I am the way, the truth, and the life" (John 14:6). "I am the true vine" (John 15:1,5). ABIDE means a LOT... far more than meets the eye.... Joh 15:8 Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. ... Environment... so important and so impacting .... Job goes from ME centered, to God-centered... Self-willed, centered and absorbed... leads to nothingness... As disciples, HIS words are fully impacting on our persons, lives, spirits, minds and the LIVING in the PATH... in the WAY and IN HIM... What did HE mean "ABIDE"??? Joh 15:4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. Joh 15:9 As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. HIS commandments are for our happiness, health and peace... Imagine the world IF ... anyone... each of the Commandments was fully implemented... Conversion means so much... the transformation is real... it is visible to the outside world when it is REAL. WHEN we ABIDE in HIM Abides in the secret place of the most High... under the Shadow of the Almighty.. the Biggest DAD in the Block... :) Joh 15:9 As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. The LOVE of Christ: Lived a perfect live and sacrificed it for US... Eph 3:14 For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Eph 3:15 Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, Eph 3:16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; Eph 3:17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, Eph 3:18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; Eph 3:19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. GOD COMES FIRST............... Eph 3:20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Eph 3:21 Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen. We understand the Mysteries of our existence by ABIDING with GOD... Rom. 10 .... FAITH comes by hearing.. Rom 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Joh 8:31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; Joh 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. 1Co 13:13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity. GNB 1Co 13:4 Love is patient and kind; it is not jealous or conceited or proud; 1Co 13:5 love is not ill-mannered or selfish or irritable; love does not keep a record of wrongs; 1Co 13:6 love is not happy with evil, but is happy with the truth. 1Co 13:7 Love never gives up; and its faith, hope, and patience never fail. 1Co 13:8 Love is eternal. There are inspired messages, but they are temporary; there are gifts of speaking in strange tongues, but they will cease; there is knowledge, but it will pass. 1Co 13:9 For our gifts of knowledge and of inspired messages are only partial; 1Co 13:10 but when what is perfect comes, then what is partial will disappear. 1Co 13:11 When I was a child, my speech, feelings, and thinking were all those of a child; now that I am an adult, I have no more use for childish ways. 1Co 13:12 What we see now is like a dim image in a mirror; then we shall see face-to-face. What I know now is only partial; then it will be complete---as complete as God's knowledge of me. 1Co 13:13 Meanwhile these three remain: faith, hope, and love; and the greatest of these is love. The Greek words here for Faith, Hope and Love... EVERYTHING WILL BE ALRIGHT ... IN THE END! ENVIRONMENT of Faith Hope Love... for growth... Joh 12:46 I have come into the world as light, so that everyone who believes in me should not remain in the darkness. {darkness the dwelling place of satan} Joh 12:47 If people hear my message and do not obey it, I will not judge them. I came, not to judge the world, but to save it. Eph 6:12 For we are not fighting against human beings but against the wicked spiritual forces in the heavenly world, the rulers, authorities, and cosmic powers of this dark age. Rom 13:11 You must do this, because you know that the time has come for you to wake up from your sleep. For the moment when we will be saved is closer now than it was when we first believed. Rom 13:12 The night is nearly over, day is almost here. Let us stop doing the things that belong to the dark, and let us take up weapons for fighting in the light. Rom 13:13 Let us conduct ourselves properly, as people who live in the light of day---no orgies or drunkenness, no immorality or indecency, no fighting or jealousy. Act 26:18 You are to open their eyes and turn them from the darkness to the light and from the power of Satan to God, so that through their faith in me they will have their sins forgiven and receive their place among God's chosen people.' Eph 4:17 In the Lord's name, then, I warn you: do not continue to live like the heathen, whose thoughts are worthless Eph 4:18 and whose minds are in the dark. They have no part in the life that God gives, for they are completely ignorant and stubborn. Eph 4:19 They have lost all feeling of shame; they give themselves over to vice and do all sorts of indecent things without restraint. Eph 4:20 That was not what you learned about Christ! Eph 4:21 You certainly heard about him, and as his followers you were taught the truth that is in Jesus. Eph 4:22 So get rid of your old self, which made you live as you used to---the old self that was being destroyed by its deceitful desires. Eph 4:23 Your hearts and minds must be made completely new, Eph 4:24 and you must put on the new self, which is created in God's likeness and reveals itself in the true life that is upright and holy. We are different, Christ wants us to be DIFFERENT, a Changed being living and thinking differently than the world around us... Do I dwell in HIM or in all the world has to offer?? WHATEVER we choose to spend our time on, THAT is where we abide... the LIGHT of Christ... or the darkness of Satan???? GOD comes FIRST in everything.... Christ's last lecture gave clear and concise direction to His disciples throughout time...
