As children when someone miss-treated us, our reaction was often to immediately strike back. As we grew older we learned to restrain ourselves. But as Christians not retaliating is not a good enough response in God's eyes. In this sermon Patrick McKee contrasts John's attitude to the Samaritans in Luke 9 (before his receiving God's Spirit) with his reaction in Acts 8 where he asked God to give them the Holy Spirit. We also need to learn to use God's Spirit and respond with godly love in such situations.
