Giving up is not quitting. We are to give up our self-determined events and our selfish desires. It is one of the most difficult things for us to do - give up our self-directives and let God guide us. There are several examples in the Bible of folks who did things their way, but there are also the steps listed we should follow in order to effectively allow God to guide us.
