In a letter written to the Roman Senate around 47 BC, Julius Caesar is credited of first using the phrase Veni, Vidi, Vici, “I Came, I Saw, I Conquered”. Those words that Julius Caesar penned captured what he desired to proclaim His quick victory and short war against Pharneces II of Pontus. Some 2,000 plus years later, we arrived here full of anticipation, excited to spend time with our physical and spiritual families, and we had that appetite we knew would be fulfilled because we as the people of God were going to feast at the Table of our God. But just like Julius Caesar’s swift battle and victory over King Pharneces, our time here has come to a close swiftly. After experiencing this wonderful Feast of Tabernacles and 8th Day, what news would we eagerly want to send forth. If we had to send a letter to declare with great excitement what we have experienced and accomplished, how would we capture what we desire to proclaim for others to know. Would it be “Venimus, Vidimus, Inspirati Sumus, “We Came, We Saw, We’ve been Inspired”? What details would you want to share that would perfectly capture the experience and why you feel compelled to express such a power statement?
