We rejoice in God's holy days so why does Amos 5:18 tell us not to desire the day of the lord? The answer is that we focus on the seventh trumpet. But there are six trumpets that proceed it as well as the seven last plagues that are poured out after Christ's return. In this sermon Mr. Smith shows us the first six trumpets are caused by mankind and why God must pour out the plagues. If God does not intervene mankind would destroy the world, but his intervention and what it will bring is the source of our rejoicing.

Gary Smith was born in Charlotte, North Carolina, but spent most of his youth in the Pasadena, California area. He graduated from Ambassador College in 1976 and he and his wife, Liz, moved to Peoria, Illinois. For the next six years he worked as a nursing home administrator in Illinois, Ohio, and Texas.
In 1982, he and Liz began to serve in the full-time ministry. Since that time, they have served in a number of congregations in the Midwest.
Gary and Liz now pastor in Houston, Texas near their two children and grandson.
