What can we do when we sometimes get caught doing the same thing over and over again?

Transcript

[Steve Myers] I was sitting in my chair the other day and suddenly a fly went right by my head. And I got distracted, I started watching that fly, and it flew right toward the window. And that fly wanted out. It kept banging against that window over and over and it would go come toward me and then it would turn around and go right back at that window. And I got to thinking about how this fly was trying so hard to get out. And yet, it kept doing the same thing over and over and over again. And as I got to thinking about that a little bit, I was totally sidetracked by this point.

But I recognized the fact I'm like that stupid fly sometimes that I continue to do the same thing over and over again and then somehow I think it's gonna turn out different. Your life ever like that? Maybe you ought to think about this fly in connection to your life because the passage that came to mind that I think is a powerful one that can help us in a situation like this, it's Jeremiah 10:23. This came to the forefront of my mind as I watched this flight go back and forth. Jeremiah 10:23. It says this, "O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself."

God, I know I don't know the right way to go. I'm too much like that fly. Then Jeremiah goes on, "It's not in man who walks to direct his own steps." I don't know the way to success. I don't know the way to spiritual success at all. I need God's guidance. So, next time you see a fly flying around and buzzing your head and banging into the window, don't just think about the fly but think about what God inspired Jeremiah to write. Look to God, recognize where God wants you to go and follow His direction. You'll find a way to success.

That's BT Daily. We'll see you next time.

I really love to read this as I am like that fly. I have trying and still trying. God has his own ways for me. Thanks Steve for this message.
