[Steve Myers] I was talking to a little six-year-old the other day, and I asked him, "What's your favorite food?" Do you know what he told me? "Candy!" I laughed about that – well, I'm not sure if it actually qualifies for food or not, but it is an interesting question. What is your favorite food? You know, maybe you think of a dessert, or maybe you think of a Thanksgiving meal or something like that as your favorite food.
Did you know that Christ answered that question, what His favorite food was? He answers that question over in John 4:34. Here's what He said – he said: "My food is to do the will of Him Who sent Me, and to finish His work." Perhaps if someone asked you, "What is your favorite food?" – we think on the spiritual side of things, that answer ought to come to our minds. Wouldn't it be great if we commit ourselves to that kind of a meal? Because you know if we don't eat spiritually, if we're not dedicated spiritually, we're going to starve, spiritually speaking. And so if we want to be strong and healthy spiritually, we've got to be sure we're eating the food that Christ talked about, to do the will of God. That means I've got to know His word, I've got to put that word into practice in my life.
And so, what a great reminder – God gives us meals every day where we can partake of a physical food, and maybe we should just take a moment to remember the spiritual connection to things – that Christ's food was to do God's will. Let's make that our food, as well. At least that's food for thought.
