I am so pleased with the work that our United Church of God Web developers have done to create a first-class website for the Church and Beyond Today! It was created to be friendly to mobile devices. About 60 percent of you coming to this site will be using a smartphone or a tablet. It’s very easy to use, and through a simplified menu and search button, you can quickly come a tremendous amount of content that can answers many of your questions about life, God and spirituality. I love it, and find myself using it several times a day.

We have about 30,000 pages of content that is instantly searchable. This includes all the Good News magazines, study aids, Bible Study Courses, blogs, Beyond Today television programs—everything that we’ve produced. You have access to hundreds upon hundreds of sermons on a kaleidoscope of topics. You can search by keyword, speaker, most popular, newest, etc.

I’d like to introduce you to a few key relevant and most useful features that you can start using right now to absorb rich biblical knowledge quickly. I’ll focus in today’s blog on the SEARCH function.

Let’s take a quick tour of some bare essentials. Let’s say you are using a mobile device and Google’s Chrome browser, for example. Type in www.ucg.org in the address line of the browser. This will immediately get you into our website. To make it simpler to get in next time, create a shortcut. To the right of the address line there is a column of three dots. Click on them and then click on “Add to homescreen.” This will immediately place an icon on your home screen that you can use to get in more quickly next time.

You will immediately be in the United Church of God home page. The line below the address line contains a “menu” button on the left and a “search” button on the right.

You can start searching right away for anything that you can imagine we have available.

For example, in the search box type in “grace.” You will be presented with 6,770 references to our content on the subject of grace. You can choose from articles, our Bible Study Guides, FAQs (Bible Questions and Answers), booklets, articles, blogs, sermons and more about grace.

To help you keep track of what you would like to read later and review, be sure to go to the top of the page and either sign in or sign up to our website. Quickly create and account that will keep track of your activity.

Then, when you are locating articles or sermons that you find useful, you can usually mark them “Add to my study list” for later study. That you can access by typing on your name in the same line as the search button is located. Then go to “My profile” and finally “My study list.” It’s just that easy.

Take a drive through our site and search away on anything that might be of interest to you. Here are some topics with lots of content:

1. Prophecy
2. Kingdom of God
3. Family
4. Marriage
5. Salvation
6. Baptism
7. Christian liberty

This is just the tip of the iceberg and a random sampling of an accumulation of 20 years of content compiled and posted online by the United Church of God.

So search away to your heart’s content on the new UCG.org. I hope you’ll find it a valuable tool for finding relevant, motivating, inspiring knowledge.

Remember, “The heart of the prudent acquires knowledge, and the ear of the wise seeks knowledge” (Proverbs 18:15).

I can tell you what excites me about the new UCG website. That there are godly men who are skilled at computer sciences, which are given the opportunity to create an up to date and very efficient website. In some ways it's comparable to the building of the tabernacle in the desert.

The novelty of a new website will eventually grow old, while searching for God's will is another story, dependant on those who look for it.
