Moses Bumped By "Desparate Housewives"
For many years the Cecil B. DeMille movie, "The Ten Commandments " has been shown on television during the Easter season. For a generation of people this movie has defined much of their understanding of the Exodus story of Moses, the children of Israel's flight from Egypt and the giving of the law from Mount Sinai. I have to be honest, when I picture Moses in my mind's eye I always see Charlton Heston . Well, this year it wasn't shown. I noticed the omission last week but did not think too much about it, after all, I have seen the movie many times and know the story pretty well. But this column by Brent Bozell fills in the details about why it was not shown. We have seen the ten commandments removed from the court house, now we see it is removed from television. But of course we had not seen much evidence of the teachings on television for quite some time.
