Barack Obama will be America’s 44th President after winning a decisive electoral victory over Senator John McCain. The first bi-racial individual to ascend to this office will face a daunting challenge from many areas from the first day he walks into the Oval Office. How he governs and what that will mean for America’s future is to be determined.

I suspect there are many this morning who are working through this reality. Most never thought they would see this happen in America. I am not sure it says as much about the country’s racial mood as it does about the quality of leadership in the nation. I am still struck by the lack of experience Obama has for national office. He shot like a meteor into national prominence just four years ago. No one outside of the south side of Chicago knew him before then. But now he will hold the reigns of power in the world’s most powerful, albeit hobbled, nation.

I have written an article for World News and Prophecy that offers insight into the challenges he will face. I’ll get that posted to the site by tomorrow. Obama’s race will make no diffference in how he faces these issues. It will be his judgement and experience that matters. On that I am afraid he is lacking. But then again, the challenges would be daunting for anyone in that role. The qualities of leadership needed at this time come from a different source.
