Our Great God
When God delivered ancient Israel from the slavery of the Egyptians, He gave them a promise and a calling. He called them to leave behind everything they ever knew to faithfully obey and follow Him. He promised to give them an inheritance worth more than anything else in the world.
He said: “I am the Lord. I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob...I established My covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the land of their pilgrimage, in which they were strangers. And I have heard the groanings of the children of Israel who the Egyptians keep in bondage, and I have remembered My covenant.
“I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, I will rescue you from their bondage, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great judgments. I will take you as My people, and I will be your God...And I will bring you into the land which I swore...I am the Lord” (Exodus 6:2-8).
As spiritual Israel, we have that same promise and calling from the Almighty God—the God who parted the Red Sea and fought the battles for Israel until they were released. Who, when their enemies surrounded them, stood at their side and said, “Do not fear! Stand by and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will accomplish for you today” (Exodus 14:13, NASB)—and the same God who lead them through the wilderness and into that Promised Land.
God’s Kingdom is coming to this Earth. He has promised us eternal life and sonship in His family. Stay faithful to the promises and calling of our great God.
