A few months ago at a conference of ministers and wives we were brainstorming the leadership traits a minister should exhibit. My wife, Debbie, raised her hand and contributed a comment that pastors should know the names of the children in his congregation. It's a simple matter, or is it?

Leadership can't happen till people want to be led. That desire will be based on a number of factors, but I know this about myself, if a supervisor does not know my name or something about me I will conclude he or she does not care about me. They will have a hard time gaining my trust and respect.
