Actions Become Habits
When we gain success in something we do, we usually try to repeat the steps we took. In time that becomes "the way" that an individual does things. We call that a habit. Some habits are very good and make life easier. Some habits can cause problems and need to be corrected.
It is easier to change a habit before it becomes deeply rooted. Having our eyes opened to all the effects of our actions is a key to knowing which actions should be encouraged. The Bible tells us to "love your neighbor as yourself," and actions that reflect that instruction are the ones we want to allow to become habits.
