Be Thankful
"Be thankful for what you have; you'll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don't have, you will never, ever have enough," said American media star Oprah Winfrey.
Not being thankful plays a part in the increasing godlessness of society. The apostle Paul wrote, "Although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened" (Romans 1:21).
The root of ingratitude is pride. People who are not thankful think they should have had more. They believe they deserve better than they have. Or they believe that they alone are wholly responsible for all they have. A cure for unhappiness is being thankful.
Paul advised, "In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you" (1 Thessalonians 5:18). It will make a difference in your outlook.
