Blinders (or blinkers) are devices to keep horses from seeing to the side, and they were necessary to protect horses in cities or heavy traffic areas where sudden moves or things happening around them could distract or spook them.

In our Christian lives, we need to be sure we aren't wearing blinders based on our own thoughts and ideas. Our "virtues" can become the "only true virtues" when we wear such blinders.

The Bible speaks of "the way" (Acts 18:25-26), not the "many different ways" to please God. God's Word is truth and our responsibility is to ensure that "our way" matches with "His way." Then we can use blinders to keep anything from distracting us from God's path.
