Those are wise words. It is like love—you will be loved once you learn to give love away. Determining to do good deeds for others is a Boy Scout motto. It is a good one, as it creates a win-win situation.

It does not take a huge amount of effort to have an impact on the life of someone else. Oprah Winfrey wrote that she was making a conscious effort to extend kindness, grace, comfort and peace to others. In other words, she was attempting to love her neighbor. Good for her! (And good for those around her!)
