We choke on that little fly, cough and spit trying to get it out. Riding with our mouths closed is not always easy and it seems the faster we go, the more air we need and the more our mouths are open. We seem to catch a lot of flies that way.

We sometimes speak in great haste without thinking clearly about what we want to say. The more we speak and the more hastily our words are formed, the more likely it is that we will spit things out that we have not thought through. Just as we will not catch flies if we ride with our mouth closed, we too should open our mouths more carefully in conversation and we will not choke on our words (James 1:19).

Invariably, the tongue speaks about what's in the heart. In a dangerous Earth, what's in the heart should only be revealed in careful and meditated, and prayed-up form, and only if it glorifies the Lord Jesus Christ. In that spirit, we can run our mouths if we wish; all will be well. No flies will be allowed by the Designer of the flies. Our mouths will be positioned in the "no fly zone".
Of course, this is said in jest, but it's also true. The fact still remains that, all our actions (all), and thoughts, should exist for only one purpose and one purpose only (only): To glorify our Lord Jesus Christ and thus bring honor to His name.
As an aside; Don't you just cringe when His name, the Lord's name, is defiled right in front of our noses?.. In public?... What do we do when that happens??..Do we, then and there speak our minds?; our hearts?? What do we do when a High-School teacher is threaten to be fired if he introduces Jesus to his students??, or the Bible... Are we a speechless Christian nation?; a Christless Christian nation?..
As disciples of the One and only; Creator of the universe and as ambassadors, all eyes are watching us carefully; a constant opportunity to serve, proclaiming our Lord as Lord to a desperate audience.
Let's be prudent; though, never, ever timid or afraid.
Your article is a blessing; but, it should have been balanced and encouraged the audience to commend, and commit itself to the Lord as the antidote to foolish talk.
The book of James was mentioned at the end of the article, more like an afterthought.
Always remember that the main thing is to keep the main Thing, the main Thing; Jesus the Lord of lords; the King of kings.
