“Give and Give”
We want to see more, hear more, get more (Ecclesiastes 1:8). Proverbs 30:15 tells us: “The leech has two daughters—Give and Give!” Some things are never satisfied.
One of the main problems in this world is the desire to get that seems to drive everything we do. The rich sometimes have more money than they know what to do with, and yet they are hard at work accumulating more.
We all have needs in order to live. We need food, water, air to breathe and a roof over our heads. Everyone has the same needs. When we learn to consider others and control our own wants and lusts, we are on the true road to happiness.
The proverbial leech is like the black hole that is never filled. We can conform to the lifestyle of the leech, or we can learn the better and higher way of living.
