Hyacinths are powerfully fragrant spring flowers. It is amazing how a pot of them on a table can change the feeling of a room, raising it above the ordinary to an atmosphere of joy, excitement and expectation.

It makes one wonder: Is this the way God feels when we pray? Revelation 5:8 compares golden bowls of fragrant incense with the prayers of the saints. God wants to hear from us—even when we are asking Him for something like help to get through hard times.
