Growing in Character
The Apostle Paul noted that good character is a product of tribulations and perseverance (Romans 5:3-4). During any crisis, the character we currently have is both refined and exhibited.
Life is full of enough trials and troubles to develop a whole lot of character. We often pray that trials be removed from us—but if God granted that request every time, it would stunt our character growth. As a wise father, He skillfully guides the development of our character.
A test of character is like a gauge to see how much we have developed and how much we lack. If we are willing clay in God’s hands (Isaiah 64:8), He will shape beautiful character in us.
