It takes a long time to gain a reputation that is trusted and sound. However, it only takes a moment of foolishness or error to ruin that which has taken a lifetime to build. One who is respected and honored is soon besmirched by just a little folly (Proverbs 10:1). We expect more of a person whom we have come to respect and regard highly. We do not expect them to allow foolishness to be part of their conduct. Somehow we are more deeply hurt when a person we expect more of fails.

We are all human, and there may be a time or two when we have teetered on the edge of folly. That is the time to pull back with all our strength. We would not pass by great riches that are lying there to be taken. A good name is likened to great riches. It is to be protected in the vault of our wisdom and conduct. It is to be guarded because it is one of our most precious, hard-earned possessions.

Christians' approachable personality and strong social minded values absolutely have to earn them a positive reputation as today's modern men and women - particularly among the poor admirers. And also Most people in the giving events or activitiesgame have tended to give more gracious claps to those who had a reputation as someone "generous" or "social".
