The love of money can be a root of evil (1 Timothy 6:10). However, the Bible is replete with stories of people who God blessed with riches. It is not a sin to have money—in fact, it is necessary that we do have enough to leave as an inheritance and to give to the poor. Learning how to handle our wealth is the key.

The Bible tells us that to have money, we must save money, which takes planning and accountability. God warns against being careless with money, but also hoarding wealth. There is a balance between letting greed dictate actions and being casual with blessings. Proverbs 30:8-9 explain that we should pray for “neither poverty nor riches.”
