Never Stop Learning
Concentrated learning, though, usually takes place in a schoolroom, and in this setting we really make progress in training our mind. There are many illiterate people on earth, and their lot in life is usually not pleasant. When we quit learning, we limit our usefulness and move to a limited level of satisfaction and happiness. This does not always mean formal learning, but in the Western world we are so blessed to be able to study almost anything depending on our abilities. What a wonderful opportunity—one that should not be missed.
Paul encourages us to "study to show ourselves approved" (2 Timothy 2:15). So God encourages learning too. The Bible also tells us that much study is weariness to the flesh (Ecclesiastes 12:12). We are left to decide what is enough and what is excess. Those levels vary for everyone. When we resolve to have a lifetime of study, we will be able to choose a steadier and more suitable pace of life. Balance is good, and whatever progress we make stays with us all of our lives. It is a fact that learning does make our life much better in every way.
