In this day and age it is hard to find peace. Noise surrounds us much of the time. Most of it comes from the machines, traffic and people around us. It is a great blessing to be alone—in the woods, for instance—away from the usual distractions.

God speaks to us in those quiet times, if we are willing to listen. We may also speak to Him, knowing that He will hear. He is the God of peace.

Take the time to be alone with God often. The noise of this world may sometimes overwhelm us, but in John 16:33 Jesus says, “In Me you may have peace.”
