Sarcasm can be a powerful weapon when used in the wrong setting. It can hurt people deeply. While sarcasm may have its place on the comedy stage, it will not do in our interaction with others. In the end, the one using the sarcasm is portraying an attitude that is not appreciated and may hurt others.

Paul learned to interact with people from all walks of life. He stated a principle for speaking that all of us can gain from. Paul wrote: “Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone” (Colossians 4:6, New International Version). When we consider the feelings of others when using a little humor or spice in our conversations, we will find that we can interact with those of different cultures and levels of learning. We will be appreciated for our consideration and kindness. Leave the sarcasm behind and follow Paul.
