Interesting findings were discovered by a researcher who studied over 8,000 obituaries—accounts of the significance of someone’s life.

She found that obituaries from the 19th century focused on the deceased’s character. On what do you think recent notices focused? The dead person’s work and wealth.

What a stark contrast between remembering people for their strong character and remembering them for the size of their bank account. Amazing how even the death notices can reveal misplaced values and show the need for significant change.

What do you want to be remembered for? Live life with integrity, with a strong moral fiber. You are not your job. Make your legacy one of true noble character.
