Tremble Before God
We all realize that God is love. The Almighty God is also fair and just. He can be no other way. There is mercy within the justice that He gives to the world, but He cannot continue to overlook sin (Acts 17:30). Some of the Psalms show the need we all have to remember who God is. Psalm 2:10-12 explains that we are to serve God with reverent fear and also rejoice with trembling. Trembling indicates the care with which we interact with God.
God fully understands our human weaknesses, and He is eager to forgive us. He needs us to have a humble heart that is not filled with pride (Proverbs 3:34). We need to study the characteristics of God in order to receive a better understanding of what He truly is. He is indeed fair and just; He is also loving and merciful.
