Your life is worth more than you ever imagined! You have a very specific purpose in the universe. Do you know what it is? Do you know how to find it?

God is offering you His greatest good—His purpose for you—to be His child. The time is now to live as His child!

You don’t have just any purpose—your purpose comes straight from the Creator God Himself! And the truth is that you don’t have to respond to God’s purpose. You can just keep going on the way you have been and ignore God’s calling to be His child. God never forces anyone to follow Him, and He never forces anyone to make His purpose their purpose. The choice is yours.

But be warned: Jesus told a parable about a man who invited people to a big banquet (Luke 14:15-24). The man spared no expense in preparing something that would be the absolute best for his guests (Luke 14:16-17). But when the man sent his servant to invite the guests, one by one they gave excuses for not being able to attend.

They seemed like pretty good, legitimate excuses. It seemed perfectly reasonable to them that they were turning down his offer. One said, “I need to take care of my property.” Another, “I’ve got a lot of work to get done.” One just got married and said he needed “to spend more time with my wife” (Luke 14:18-20).

What the man was offering his guests was much more wonderful that what they had, but they lived in their little bubbles, selfishly pursuing happiness. The result? They missed out. The host eventually rejected those whom he invited and asked others to attend his banquet.

God is offering you His greatest good—His purpose for you—to be His child. The time is now to live as His child!

The time is now to be changed into His spiritual image. God wants you to make His purpose your purpose.

The time is now to seize this gift and accept the invitation! Or will you find an excuse?

In the light of what God is offering you, you have to answer some simple questions. Are you willing to give up everything in order to receive everything God wants for you? God wants to give you a meaningful, fulfilling life. He wants to help you when you face difficult times. He wants you to have a more meaningful relationship with Him as your Father. He wants to help you experience happiness for eternity.

If not you—who? If not now—when? The time is now for you to live God’s purpose for your life!

I have been in your shoes. It's awesome you desire to follow God. The next step is committing to put sin out of your life. Then, once you have started to understand God's plan and purpose for you (there are many qualified ministers ready and willing to help with that - use the search function to look for a minister near you), I would urge you to seek counseling for baptism. May God guide and bless you in your walk.

    Mike,
You are looking for God to "come into my heart." Many people use that phrase, but what does it actually mean? Let's look at this another way. God wants you to surrender your life to Him. Jesus explained what it means to be His disciple in Luke 14:25-33 and in the Sermon on the Mount in Matthew 5-7. King David had a relationship with God, but he experienced a deeper relationship when he truly repented as recorded in Psalm 51. I suggest you read these Scriptures and ask God to lead you in understanding His message. The next step would be to pursue water baptism as a symbol of God's washing away of your sins and the laying on of hands to receive the Holy Spirit. Only through the Holy Spirit can God really live in our hearts and minds. You might find it helpful to read the UCG booklet The Road to Eternal Life. I pray that God will guide you on your journey.
