Slip of the Tongue
We all are guilty of the odd gaffe—or the not so odd one. Dumb statements can tumble out of our mouths before we can shut our lips. Have you ever said: "I can't believe I said that!" or "I didn't mean it that way!" Our words can run over each other sometimes and we can say things we do not mean. Not only can things be taken the wrong way—but also we can express them poorly and the meaning can change.
For instance, overweight women are sometimes asked when their baby is due. That sort of comment may seem innocent, but the "taste" lingers on. Think before commenting and, if what you are about to say could be taken the wrong way, don't say it!
