Inner Peace
We can do little about the wars of this world. Men have fought throughout history. Some have found, though, that even in the most dire situations they can have an inner peace. It does take some effort and determination to struggle with the things that would destroy your peace. Three enemies of personal peace are regret over yesterday's mistakes, anxiety over tomorrow’s problems and ingratitude for today's events.
We must learn from past mistakes—but not let them overwhelm us. We must plan for the future—but not give in to anxiety (Matthew 6:34). We must avoid complacency—but never forget to appreciate our blessings.
These enemies of inner peace are in your control. Handling them takes effort and work, but the payoff is enormous.
