It seems we are living "full throttle" these days. Everyone is in a hurry. We tend to spend a lot of time mending the fences we have broken in our haste. "I'm sorry" might come easily—but if we do not follow with a heartfelt "I won't do it again," we have not learned the lesson of "haste makes waste." Proverbs 4:26 tells us to "ponder the path of your feet." We need to know where we are coming from, where we are going and what our responsibilities are.

There is a great joy in doing a job efficiently and well. The lazy mosey along, but their list of accomplishments is limited. It is healthy to run. Our heart benefits and our body becomes fit and more efficient. But when we run on slippery slopes, in a fog or in darkness, we do well to adjust our speed. Run slowly—fast enough to be efficient, and slow enough to avoid errors and the pain that comes from a fall.
