How are you able to read this message or gaze out at a beautiful sunset? Our bodies come equipped with two marvelous and complex objects about the size of Ping-Pong balls—our eyes. The eye contains about 130 million rod-shaped cells for black-and-white vision and 7 million cone-shaped cells for color vision. They can even handle 1 1/2 million messages at the same time because of the many millions of tiny electrical connections.

They do this all automatically—we don’t have to give it a thought or know how they work! How long would it take something so complex to evolve? While thinking on this, keep in mind that without the brain (another very complex organ) the eyes would be useless. They must work in harmony.
