Humans seem to have a strong desire to do what they want to do. But what we want is really the product of what has been put into our minds and hearts. We are either a slave to that which is wrong, or we are a slave to that which is right (Romans 6:17-18). Doing what is right in our own eyes leads to error and sin. If we wish to live a wholesome and happy life, we ought to learn to do what is right in God’s eyes and not to do what we please.

We do have choices to make, but with wrong information, we are not in a position to choose at all. First we need to learn, study, ponder and meditate, and then we can see clearly to make the right choice. Making the right choices does not mean doing as we please; it means doing what pleases God our Creator who truly knows what is best for us.
