The prodigal son—after wasting all his inheritance and then coming to his senses—told his father, “I am no longer worthy to be called your son” (Luke 15:19).

How often in our struggles to obey and please our Heavenly Father have we thought that same thing? We struggle with sins that so easily ensnare us, and from time to time we fail—but then our God lifts us up and encourages us to give it another shot.

He does not want you to be discouraged, but to be full of joy in the knowledge that you are able to cast “all your care upon Him, for He cares for you” (1 Peter 5:7).

We are children of our Father in heaven, the Creator of the universe. How great is that!
