Happiness Depends on Outlook
There are many wealthy, well-dressed members of the human race who carry heavy aches beneath their diamond necklaces—and there are many members of the human race who wear paupers’ garments, yet whose happy hearts dance beneath the coarse wool. The Apostle Paul said he learned to be content in whatever state he was in (Philippians 4:11). Happiness depends more on our outlook and perceptions than it does on the clothing we wear.
We may not be in a position to do something about the lack of diamonds and pearls, but we can definitely do something about what lies in our hearts. We can focus our attention on the positives in life. This is worth thinking about.
