We cannot develop the art of blushing through practice—it is stimulated by a mind that has a conscience and recognizes shame, powered by a sense of modesty.

A blush reveals an inner demeanor that is charming because of a refreshing simplicity and inner beauty. It is lost through a hardening of attitudes and a fading sense of right versus wrong. Blushing betrays our inner feelings more precisely than most anything else. It is an automatic response to an assault on our sense of propriety.

If we have lost the ability to blush, we can recapture it by acknowledging God’s way and recognizing what evil truly represents.
