We speak loudly by the way we frown or smile. George Eliot once said, “Wear a smile and have friends; wear a scowl and have wrinkles.” We all know that smiles also wrinkle our faces in time, but somehow the wrinkles from smiles make us look much more pleasant and attractive than wrinkles from frowns and scowls.

We have the ability to choose how we react to life. We can fill our minds with happy thoughts or become dissatisfied about everything. What a great loss of life it is to be a negative person all the time. In the Bible we read many notes about rejoicing and being happy. Ecclesiastes 11:9-10 admonishes us to rejoice in our youth and let our hearts cheer us. We are told to put away sorrow. That is a frame of mind. We cannot let ourselves become giddy and foolish. We also read that there is a time to laugh and a time to cry, but we should focus on the joy that is available (Ecclesiastes 3:4; Ecclesiastes 3:22).

I recently learned about RSF: resting smile face. An online search engine will fill you on what it is. I don't have it. My resting face is....somewhat of a frown. So, I have been asking God to change that so I can reflect His spirit. It's taking some work but definitely worth the effort.

    Thank you for this teaching!
