Here's a passage to keep in mind when you wonder "Where is God?"

Transcript

[Steve Myers] We all have a tendency at times to feel a little down, to feel discouraged. Maybe we wonder where is God in our life.

Well, there's an amazing passage I'd like you to keep in mind and it's found over in the book of Hebrews and right at the end of that letter in Hebrews 13:5 we're told something so vitally important that we need to remind ourselves of this especially when we have that outlook that just might be a little discouraged. And it says something amazing at the end of that particular verse in Hebrews 13:5.

Here's what God inspired: it says, "I will never leave you or forsake you." Now we read that through in English and maybe we can feel a little bit of comfort, but you know what is amazing? If you were to read that in the original language, if you were to read that in Greek it would become such a stronger encouragement because in the Greek there's actually three times that God encourages us by saying, "I will not, will not, will not ever leave you or forsake you." And so in this one passage we don't see it in the English, but in the original language three times over God is telling us, "I won't, I will not, I could not ever forsake you."

So when you feel down, when you feel discouraged, when that sense of where is God might come into your mind remember Hebrews 13:5. Remember that passage because God wants us to know it not just once or twice, but three times over He wants us to know He is never going to leave us. He's never going to forsake us. He's always there for our rescue.

That's BT Daily. We'll see you next time.
