The George Zimmerman / Trayvon Martin trial causes us to ask who knows what was in their heart? The Bible tells us that justice will ultimately be served.

[Steve Myers] Here in America, the George Zimmerman trial for the death of Trayvon Martin is all over the news with the verdict of not guilty. It seems that so many people seem to know the truth. They know what happened. They've judged the situation, and they know what was on the heart of George Zimmerman or what was on the heart of Trayvon Martin. But do we really?

When you look at what the Bible has to say about the truth and where we can really find the truth, when you look to Psalm 44 we find really the truth of the matter. And it comes down to really the only one who knows the heart. And here's what it says there, it says, "He knows the secrets of the heart" (Psalm 44:20-21). God knows the secrets of the heart. Even George Zimmerman or perhaps Trayvon Martin couldn't fairly assess the situation of what was actually happening that night. And yet so many others seem to judge from the outside. And yet God goes right to the inside. God judges the heart. He knows the secrets of the heart.

And in fact when we look to the Bible, I think we can find some assurance. We can take courage no matter what side of the story you might be on. I think when we look to the Bible we find the side of the story that we ultimately should be on. And in Deuteronomy 32:4 it gives us guidance. It says He is the rock. It's talking about God.

It says, "His work is perfect for all His ways are justice." And we look for justice. We look for truth today, and yet in our world it's a difficult thing to find. But Deuteronomy 32:4 says, "A God of truth, He is without injustice. Righteous and upright is He." And so when we look to our Bible, if we're going to find truth, if we're going to find justice, we need to look to God. And ultimately your Bible says He is going to bring that truth. He is going to bring that justice to this world. Psalm 72 focuses on that just a little bit. Psalm 72:4 it tells us, "He will bring justice to the poor of the people.  He will save the children of the needy, and He will break in pieces the oppressor."

And so as Christians we look forward to this time. We look forward to the time when there will be truth. Everything will come to light and ultimately Jesus Christ will return and at that time He will bring truth and justice to this earth as He ushers in the Kingdom of God.

That's BT Daily. We'll see you next time.
