For baseball fans, the count on Harold Camping is now two strikes. As we predicted on this website, Camping's prophecy of Christ's return to the earth for May 21, 2011 was strike two. Strike one was in 1992 when he published a book saying 1994 would see the fulfillment of Bible prophecies regarding the tribulation and coming of Christ.

Harold Camping is still in the batter's box and strike three for him is already scheduled. It will be October 21, 2011, his newest date for the judgment and return of Christ.

Each time Camping swings and misses his fans are subjected to disappointment, discouragement and depression. And it is all so unnecessary! Harold Camping had actually already struck out in 1992, because Jesus Himself said that He does not know the day or the hour when the events will be fulfilled that lead to His return. "But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only" (Matthew:24:36). Anyone predicting the exact date of Jesus' promised return ignores Jesus' own clear statements!

The greater damage however, is the loss of credibility Harold Camping inflicts upon those Bible believers who carefully and soberly proclaim the clear promise of Jesus' return. We don't rely on mathematical trickery to come up with a magic date. Instead, we examine the signs given by Jesus Himself and watch for their development in current world events.

Don't be deceived by anyone who claims to know the exact date of Jesus' return! And don't be lulled into a state of disbelief by those who disregard Jesus' clear teaching on the day of His return and in so doing eventually strike out!
