Recently a New York judge tossed out any restriction on the age a person has to be to purchase, without a prescription, a "morning-after pill" to terminate a pregnancy.

Prior to his ruling a woman had to be at least 17 to legally get the drug. If his ruling stands, a girl as young as 12 or 13—or her male partner—can buy a pill that will cause her body to spontaneously abort her "problem," ending that unborn life.

This follows on the heels of a 2012 decision by the New York Department of Education to make morning-after pills available to schoolgirls as young as 14 without parental consent.

Ironically, if that same 14-year-old were to go her school nurse to get an aspirin for a headache, the nurse would have to get parental permission to do so. But courtesy of this education department, children can be given abortion-inducing drugs without their parents ever knowing.

What a horrifying message to send to girls who are little more than children themselves—that destroying an unborn human life is of such little consequence—or none at all.

What does it say about a society when, on the grounds of protecting citizens' health, a city bans the sale of sweetened drinks larger than 16 ounces (a third larger than the most common size), but it allows, and even pays for, abortion-inducing drugs for its schoolchildren?

In what kind of twisted universe does that make sense?

This is the kind of blind and perverse reasoning we see when a people and their leaders increasingly turn their backs on God. As our Creator, He gave us an instruction manual in the form of His Word, the Bible. But rejecting its revelation for how we should live and what makes for a peaceful, purposeful, well-ordered society, we've increasingly decided to create our own rules and ignore the lessons of history—bringing curses on ourselves in the process.

But you don't have to go that way. You can learn from God's Word the awesome purpose of human life, and why abortion is so wrong in His sight. You can know why you are here and why you were born, as described in the cover article of the latest issue of The Good News, arriving in your mailbox shortly.

We hope you'll carefully read the articles in this issue to learn about the future God has in store for you. Understanding that, you'll then understand how God views one of the most divisive and controversial issues affecting our society today—that of abortion.

Life begins at conception. "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you. (Jer 1:4). The purpose of 'birth control' at any stage is to rob the victim of being viable as a soul, to be baptized, and to achieve salvation though Jesus Christ. Therefore this simple pill has the power and poison to deny life to the soul of the child aborted when it is administered. Some people will say that it does not kill the fetus, but only prevents the development of a fetus which is a fancy way of saying we are preventing natural life from getting a beginning. It is still killing, murder, and violation of God's Commandments. Christians believe in life from its natural beginning to its natural end. No drugs. Killing or preventing a viable person from developing are the same no matter how it is justified. No other animal group kills their young in the womb. God gave us free will, but we have become like God when we become judges of who lives, and who is not allowed to develop in the womb. There is no middle ground. Either stand with Christ, or be an Anti-Christ.

While I disagree with the practice of abortion, I don't think it's fair to misinform readers - the "morning-after pill" does NOT induce abortion. It is merely an extra-strength form of birth control, which while many people still disagree with its intent, does not cause the death of a fetus once it has already begun developing. It prevents the development from beginning. I am a sexual assault counselor and we provide this pill to people who have been assaulted and do not want to become pregnant. People are confusing the morning-after pill with RU486, which actually could induce abortion (but is not available to teens).

We are a bloody nation and God will only put up with it for so long. Abortion, termination, murder, killing, call it you will, as a nation we are no longer falling down a deep dark hole. We have hit the bottom and instead of trying to climb out we are digging a hole in the dirt to see if we can get any deeper.

My daughter conceived at 12 and gave birth, 8 months ago, to a healthy little boy who was named J'ziah-(the Lord Heals/Saves). Praise be to God... When I discovered her conception I was still of the world and struggled emensely with it all, from my baby having a baby, to my failure as a mother to keep my daughter safe, the sexual violation she had to endure, the fear that her undeveloped body will not cope with such a task, never mind the labour, that broke my heart. I have never supported abortions, and would not have been able to live with myself if I had forced or encouraged my daughter to have one, the choice was hers and she decided to go ahead with the pregnancy and keep the child. ThankThe Lord. God supported us through the pregnancy, with no complications, through Labour with no serious injury just the usual stitches most mothers have to bare. Praise be to God, He is Truely Amazing.... if it wasnt for His support back then I would have had a nervous breakdown from all my sadness and selfpitty but our God is a Patient God If it wasn't for my strong belief in our Heavenly Father and His will for things to be done my amazingly beautiful Grandson would not be here today. Thank you Lord I have now surrendered my life to our Heavenly Father and do my best to please Him by walking in the footsteps of His Son our Lord Jesus Christ. Gods will be done for ever and ever Amen...
