At a football game in Los Angeles, some spectators became ill with food poisoning.  It was discovered that all had consumed soft drinks from the same machine.  This was announced to the crowd.  Within a short time dozens of people were vomiting and fainting.  Two hundred people were hospitalized.  It was then determined that the food poisoning had nothing to do with the soft drink machine.  When this was announced everyone's symptoms began to disappear.

Negative thoughts can have powerful effects on your physical health.  Negative thoughts have an enormous effect on your emotions.

What do you think about every day?  Are you consumed with thinking about how others mistreat you, how others have more stuff than you do, and how bad everything is in your life?  Or, do you consciously think about the greatness of God, your blessings, and how you can make a positive difference in the lives of others?

Solomon wrote, "For as he thinks in his heart, so is he" (Proverbs 23:7).  Your life is a composite of your thoughts.  What positive or negative power are thoughts producing in your life?

How true this is! I have found that our own negative thoughts can be detrimental to others also. If we recognize our own tendency to be negative, and want instead to be positive, upwardly/outwardly-thinking individuals, we will have to immerse ourselves in God's Word, and associate with uplifting people rather than those who tend to drag us down.
