How many of us could call up the President of the United States and ask for his time? To do that you would have to go through a host of people first! To plead your cause, to discuss issues, or even your personal problems would simply be out of the question. Even though he is elected by the people, he has more far-reaching issues to deal with than our personal issues. In addition, if he were to see you, you would have to make an appointment way in advance.

But there is someone else we can seek who is even higher than the President and even outranks him! Who is that high-ranking Administrator?

Jesus, who is the greatest administrator of all! He is the one who outranks any leader of this world! God the Father and Jesus Christ are over the entire universe! “For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him, all things hold together. In addition, He is the head of the body, the church; He is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything He might have the supremacy. For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in Him, and through Him to reconcile to Himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross” (Colossians 1:16-20). With this amazing, great being, we can have instant communication with Him without an appointment! Why?

Because of His character, Jesus has compassion for the poor, the weak, the suffering and the sick. For instance, we read this account: “When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them and healed their sick” (Matthew 14:14). Jesus said another time: “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light” (Matthew 11:28-30). Christ is never too busy to care for us and He does it without an appointment!

While the President of the United States may be too busy to see us, God is never too busy. We can connect to Him at any time, day or night! His phone line is never busy. He will never ignore our calls for help. So how can we connect with the greatest being of the universe? Here are some ways;

1. Through prayer.

“Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you" (Jeremiah 29:12). God is never too busy to hear our prayers! He is there to hear our voice anytime of the day or night! “Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise" (James 5:13).

2. Through His Word.

The Bible is filled with answers and encouragement for all of us. In addition, how can we know God and His will if we do not know His character? On several occasions I would just open up the Bible, and right there was the answer I needed! I knew that God was talking to me. So get to know Him and His character and let Him talk to you through His Word.

3. Through His Creation.

How can we not feel God’s presence when we are spending time in what He created? The calm, the peace, the gentle wind, the sun shining on your face, the beautiful birds, it all inspires you to talk with Him. Tell Him what is on your mind and give Him thanks for all He has done in your life. Go for a walk and talk with God in His creation!

4. Through music. 

Listening to uplifting praises always lifts you up! It helps you refocus. “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom and as you sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with gratitude in your heart to God” (Colossians 3:16). Did you know that music is powerful and capable of a number of health benefits, including lowering stress levels, changing moods, developing the brain and more? So listen to inspirational, soothing music as you reflect on God and all His goodness, and it can help you to connect to Him.

There are so many ways to connect instantly to the highest administrator of the universe, Our Father in Heaven, without an appointment! We can do that through prayer, through studying His Word, getting out in the creation, and listening to beautiful music!

He is there to encourage us, to lift us up, give us answers to our problems and help us solve them! Our Father in Heaven is invested in us, and cares for us like no one else! We always hold a special audience with Him! No appointment needed!
