Topical Readings: Pentecost
Harvest of Firstfruits and the Holy Spirit
In regards to our topical reading on Pentecost, the scriptures given below concentrate on the institution and observance of the Holy Day as well as the need for one of the very important things it pictures—God’s Holy Spirit, which He pours on those who respond to His calling (Isaiah 32:15; Isaiah 44:3; Isaiah 49:21). According to Jewish tradition, the giving of the law at Mount Sinai also took place on Pentecost. In conjunction with the passages, it would also be helpful to read “The Feast of Pentecost: The Firstfruits of God’s Harvest” from our booklet God’s Holy Day Plan: The Promise of Hope for All Mankind.
