Atheism is rooted in ingratitude. The ultimate in ingratitude, I believe, is to deny the existence of the Creator and Sustainer of everything. By denial you do not feel the need to give thanks or believe that you owe allegiance to someone greater than yourself. By denial you feel you have thrown off all restraints. You become your own god and do not owe obedience to any power other than that of your own mind. You determine “your truth” and what is right and what is wrong. Devotion to the Father is exchanged for enslavement to whatever the latest dogma is that comes from the thoughts and imaginations of men.

We are seeing the results in our society which is moving away from acknowledgement of the source of absolute truth and authority in our lives. Our intelligentsia have scoffed at the idea of an omnipotent creator God for many decades, but this is now making its way down into all levels of society and eroding the foundation our founding fathers knew was essential to maintain freedom.

We are filled with putrefying sores from top to bottom. As we read in Isaiah 1:4-6: "Alas, sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a brood of evildoers, children who are corrupters! They have forsaken the LORD, they have provoked to anger the Holy One of Israel, they have turned away backward. Why should you be stricken again? You will revolt more and more. The whole head is sick, and the whole heart faints. From the sole of the foot even to the head, there is no soundness in it, but wounds and bruises and putrefying sores; they have not been closed or bound up, or soothed with ointment."

Our children are being corrupted and used for an agenda that started in higher education many years ago. Even if things are slowed as parents become aware of what is being taught to our children, we have seen too often in this nation that the progression of godlessness will move forward once the ball has started rolling. Too many parents are now on the side of this corrupting of the innocence of children because they have been indoctrinated in this new religion of deciding for oneself what is acceptable. They no longer have sound reasoning. They are incapable of seeing the end result of acceptance of the vile sexual deviation and godlessness that is being pushed on children from the youngest of ages.

People want to judge God for having Israel come through and wipe out whole societies around them, even the children. This was actually merciful in a society that had reached the point of no return, where even the children had been corrupted. God takes no pleasure in the destruction of the wicked, but it stops the spread of indoctrination. And believe it or not, God is not through with them!

The direction our society is headed has served as a distraction for a while, but the gleanings of the past show that it never ends well. Only a wholehearted return to the ultimate Authority can turn it around, but national failures recorded in history show repentance, if arrived at, is usually when it is too little and too late.

We can know from the one source of absolute truth, that a Savior will arrive on his white horse at the last minute to save us from ourselves. What we see happening now is not the end of the story. Our conquering Hero, our Creator God, is returning to establish an everlasting, peaceful kingdom.

We owe him absolute gratefulness, devotion and adherence to his unending law of love. There is no substitute and no other way that works that has been derived from the imaginations of mankind.

Matthew 11:28-30: "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light."
